Do you believe in fairies?

Imps? Small strange creatures that look exactly as you?

Well I didn't untill I started this join venture with Yabusaka, and the result are petites.

We chose to call them petites, to not limit the idea of those avatars to only fairies but also to any kind of interesting race and character you wish, that finally can be of the right size. To start with and see how the idea is perceived by you, I chose to make 3 starter packs that include also the outfits, you can see each pack specs on those panel pics:

I warmly suggest (so warmly, that it gets hot) that you try the demos provided to see if you own a capable mesh viewer and have no issues in enjoying them, and please read the important note in the demo folder, for mesh troubleshooting and other very important things you must know.

Petites also come with two HUDS, one for tinting your skin as ever you wish, another for many options as: face expressions, alpha hiding of body parts, fullbright, glow and metal, and you get 3 hand poses you can combine for a natural flowing look. All of the 3 tones in each pack include PG body options and 3 makeups.

We hope more creators will join the petite team to make pretty small things for those creatures, but for now I can assure you Mochi from Pink Fuel has her hands on, as Elizabeth from Frippery and Sharni from the Looking Glass, and Cerberus from G-Field made an awesome set of fairy outfits you can arrange with Wasabi Pills Orion rigged mesh hair, adapted specifically for petites, all this to not mention Yabusaka's own full avatar with a special g-field outfit tone included.

Hope you enjoy them as I did working on them.

The Tao special option lays not much in the skin itself, but more in the tattoo layers that not only can be applied over the skins included in this product, but also over any of your skins. They work best with second generation Fallen Gods skins, but they are versatile to any customization you choose. The idea is to bring a wider range of half skins in the future by first seeing how this idea is perceived with the original Tao tones as first.

A Personal Note

And so the golden year ends.

A year in which we needed a shiny and rich feel to contrast against the evident reality we throw behind when coming into this world we created. A year of Memory, of Crystals and Mysts, of Irradiated powers and living Trees. A year of insecurities and changes for Me at least, of choices, of challenges, of loss. A year of miracles, of solitude, of friendship and love. A year I wouldn't change of a second, because it was part of a story we live in, a gate to this 4th year, the Year of the Dragon.

When I started the Heaven from Hell timeline back in may, I wasn't sure where it will end precisely. The work on draco skins started already, and had that feeling I need to cover angels and demons in the future, lacking red tones. The whole merged while I started to re-read Bible's Revelation and also found out by personal delight that the next year will be actually for real the Year of the Dragon in the chinese horoscope. So the storyline continued until it came to a glorious end, and all because of you, in this last week with the Election and Party. Without you all those things do not exist, Fallen Gods Inc. doesn’t exists as its value and what I create comes to life with your presence, and without sounding too mushy I will just thank you for that deeply.

Thanks to all of you, participants and voters, for making this year's election again a fun week and a genuine socializing moment . I wish to congratulate all of you, but expecially our awesome Winners: Chelle Hawker and World Undercroft, Chelle made a beautiful image with them both:

The Anniversary

The anniversary started , as Mine says, memorable in it’s chaos and technical failure. I placed the stage high on top of the erupting volcano, as you can see it now with “The Arrival”, but the moment people started to come the lag became not bad, but unbearable, and we were only in 35 at the time so was impossible to continue. I chose to restart the sim and move the stage down on the sea, protected by the bay which turned out actually a nice setting too , intimate, and the lag retreated leaving space for 12 hours of beautiful people, kicking DJs (Nakuru Bergamasco, Rykk Ferraris, Kirana Rawley and Lainey Thorne, thank you awesome Warlocks! ) and genuine good time. It was for Me a great weekend, hope it was also for you. Here are some videos and pictures taken at the Party, I will include more as I get them. Please feel free to drop Me your pics if you did some, would love to keep them as memory. And now, almost time for Hallow Eve….

To honor your support in those four years I will hold the already traditional competition that will be won by who best incarnates the vision of Fallen Gods through his/her eyes: The Election of 2011 Fallen God and Goddess.

Everyone is invited to participate, being you an old Fallen or brand new, and the requisites are very simple and will work in the following way, please give it a read.

PRIZES

(All prizes are for male and female, separate competitions)

FIRST PRIZE: 3 Full skin lines

(example: all hybrids + evolution + elves, one gender)

SECOND PRIZE: 1 Full skin line

(example: all hybrids, one gender)

THIRD PRIZE: 3 skins of choice.

RUNNER UP: One skin of choice.

All contestors will receive a limited edition gift for participating.

More secret awards with weird names will be given at the end of the competition during the Anniversary Event, the prize for those are by tradition a skin of choice.

RULES

- You will need a snapshot of yourself, this is the way people will be able to vote you. Your image will be your presentation card, it will summary all what you want to say so I suggest you take time to choose or to create one that really satisfies and represents you. The artistic value itself of the image and it’s originality will be for sure something that will help you getting noticed by the voters.

- You need to wear a Fallen Gods Inc. skin. All the rest: location, outfit, etc. is by your choice. It’s the only requirement, since without it the competition itself has no sense.

- There must be only one avatar in the image, yourself, otherwise it can get confusing. And it shall be only one pic.

- You will deliver to me, Alia Baroque, a FULL PERMISSIONS texture named FGI11 name surname (example: FGI11 John Doe). I will not exclude on prior who mistakes that, but I might not find your texture and so miss to place you in the voting. Also the ratio shall be that of a standard snapshot and monitor size (3:2), vertical and square cuts will have your image deformed. Please do not put your image in notecards, boxes or folders.

- I will accept your images untill Friday, October 14, 2011.

- On Saturday 15 I will place out the panels with your pictures, the system will be a single click vote by avatar, for all the pics one likes, so the Jury will be all SL that comes to Selidor. The voting will last untill friday 21 October included, the day before the Fourth Anniversary Celebration. In this occasion the winners will be announced.

- The maximum number of participants by gender is 30, so if it exceeds that number I will make a preliminary selection based mostly on the picture aesthetics and interesting look.

- Very Important: Please. Do not contact me about anything concerning this matter in IM or by note. I will have a very busy time untill the Anniversary and you really do not want me to be late with the new releases (AS ALWAYS I TEND TO BE, I know, I know...). If you fear I did not receive your texture, drop it again, I will not mind at all. (well, if you drop it 100 times I could mind). Anything else that will be needed to know will come by Group notice.

Spring Break & Invocations

Dear Fallen,

I thought it’s nice if I write a few words to let you know how things proceed under many fronts.

The Temple rebuild is going slow but well, am enjoying a lot the rework and taking time to plan under many aspects so for a few years, hopefully, it will be able to host more releases without encountering a panel cluster. Am trying to simplify and enchance the shopping experience with a simpler layout, by also not taking anything from Selidor’s Temple and nature as part of the enjoyment, same as for its details and secrets. I also wish you to know that the bay and sides of Selidor are still the same and accessible without the risk of falling prims on your head, even if Selidor as sim has a fixed teleporting route, you can access it by walking in from Athan, I just ask you to avoid the Temple area while I build so things can proceed without too many distractions.

On the creations front am taking a so called sabbatic month, working on many things when I feel the vibe and letting ideas flow without any rush or usual personal pressure to complete in a fashionable time, reason why for a while I might not participate in Hunts so all My ideas can flow freely with no time or theme constraint. There’s also a very big possibility that by the end of summer I might finally choose to sell builds and furniture, though not the ones that are present on the Islands but others projects I keep in My pocket still. Another news is that I am torturing sculpted prims lately and preparing for the mesh hit.

Finally improved accessories as new sculpted ears, male genitalia and some other mistery ones, will hit the store with a new brand hud for easy texturizing with all skin lines, still in progress but soon, hopefully, to be done. Lately am also enjoying the fun over face makeups, I already started a few that need refinement, but they will come all slowly out during may as a bigger full body tattoo that is just an idea for now and long time to see done. Skins? Well… I admit after faes I felt to go more evil, as a basic need: expect something scary, truly dangerous and with a damn bad temp.

The Events that leaded me to Ancient Avaris were fortuite, strong and immediate.

Sometimes just a piece of unterraformed land with a river can make you feel at Home even if there are still thousands of prims to build.... but visions strike unexpected.

So it came that months ago a wonderful person named Jesika leaded me to the Nile, a communion of mutual ideas, visions, personal knowledge and lifestyle leaded us to join forces: Me, by my builder hand and her and the Setite Clan with the ability to make it live and pulse.

Buildining the Nile was a struggle, stealing time from other obligations I have in Second Life, but the patience of the Clan was infinite and they waited for Me to find time and continue completing the Vision. Now I can say that the most is done even if, by My eyes and opinion, still a lot is missing.

The Nile will keep getting built and enriched, the Nile will keep evolving, but by now I can welcome you to our Vision of an Eclectic greco-roman decaying Ancient Egypt period encountering Vampire the Masquerade... where sand speaks, bugs caress and the flowing of the Nile is life, as the flowing of blood for the Setite Clan,

What's the News?

2011 Just started and I can't help than having a good vibe over it, for many SL related matters as personal ones. So, what's the News? Well the first one is that this year's first official creation is a Tribute to Gustave Doré, which you can get free in the "What's the News" Hunt. If you want to know more about this artist of which I am very fond of, check here the wiki general information, worth it. The tattoo layer is a theme I wished from long to create, the ability to add to avatars the hand drawn, painted or carved effect, now with the new tattoo layer is possible to work over the whole body so made my first try. Also added a few framed artworks by Dorè, hope you enjoy it.

My Plans

I've been scribbling and planning over my agenda as I usually do, to set priorities over projects.It keeps always light and open to modifications, but basically I follow it during the year. In those past months I was much concerned with the overall progress of SL, marketing issues and many longterm completions of lines as the gods of Warfare. New great ways to improve avatar genetics presented themselves with v2 options as the tattoo and alpha layers, giving a huge way to improve skin making in second life. So for now on, except finalizing the New Goddesses very soon, will focus on ways to integrate the new layers with skins, old tattoos and body enchancements. Being able to have an additional layer over the head template is simply a whole new world, but finding useful ways to approach it will take me some time to test possibilities, I guess time will tell which are the best solutions. For now I can tell you I have many new lines on my flesh carving table shaking in chains for freedom to incarnate, hoping you will like their ways to be. To end I want to thank all of you for your wonderful support in all this years, but expecially in this taugh past one, your support is mainly one of the things that keeps me going on when SL becomes uncertain. It's time to steal Duncan Donogal and Nila Byron's Crowns.

Once again the end is near... already this time of the year?

To honor your support in those three years I will hold the now yearly competition that will be won by who best incarnates the Vision of Fallen Gods through his/her eyes: The Election of 2010 Fallen God and Goddess.

Everyone is invited to participate, being you an old Fallen or brand new, and the requisites are very simple and will work in the following way, please give it a reading.

RULES

You will need a snapshot of yourself, this is the way people will be able to vote you. Your image will be your presentation card, it will summary all what you want to say so I suggest you take time to choose or to create one that really satisfies and represents you. The artistic value itself of the image and it’s originality will be for sure something that will help you getting noticed by the voters.
You need to wear one of My skins. All the rest: location, outfit, etc. is by your choice. It’s the only big rule, since without it the competition itself has no sense.
There must be only one avatar in the image, yourself, otherwise it can get confusing. And it shall be only one pic.
You will deliver to me, Alia Baroque, a FULL PERMISSIONS texture with your name as title preceeded by the prefix FGI10 (example: FGI10 John Doe). I will not exclude on prior who mistakes that, but I might not find your texture and so miss to place you in the voting. Also the ratio shall be that of a standard snapshot and monitor size, vertical and square cuts will have your image deformed.
I will accept your images untill Friday, October 8, 2010.
On Saturday 9 I will place out the panels with your pictures, the system will be a single click vote by avatar, so the Jury will be all SL that comes to Selidor. The voting will last untill the DAY BEFORE the Third Anniversary Celebration, which will probably take place on October 16, this has to be confirmed. In this occasion the winners will be announced and praised properly.
The maximum number of participants by gender is 30, so if it exceeds that number I will make a preliminary selection based mostly on the picture aesthetics and interesting look.

Very Important: Please. Do not contact me about anything concerning this matter in IM or by note. I will have a very busy time untill the Anniversary and you really do not want me to be late with the new releases (AS ALWAYS I TEND TO BE). If you fear I did not receive your texture, drop it again, I will not mind at all. (well, if you drop it 100 times I could mind). Anything else that will be needed to know will come by Group notice.

Yes you heard it right: they rented a huge BUS and went to revamp themselves with some sun, sea and plastic surgery. I am expecting them to be back in Autumn with a far much better tan and attitude, till then I suggest you befriend their Selidorian non human looking friendS: elementals, elves, Hybrids, Evolution, Foam, Pixies, Orcs.... and some clowns and vamps by the way.

Dear Fallen,

There are moments in which a choice we ponder about too much has to be taken. I've been waiting too much, due to various reasons, but now i simply felt it was the deadline. It wasn't easy at all.

I retired all the first generation of Gods skins, and the reason is very simple: I wasn't satisfied with them at all, and this since Windlight came in use. The major problem with them is the way I used to work on skins when I just started and the huge difference in skintone that came up when Second Life switched on Windlight from the old style visual input.

Are they completely retired?

Yes and No.

For those that liked the body and facial features of them, I can reassure you I will try to keep them the most possible in My rework, so to maintain the same traits but with enchancing and developing the skintone, resolution and quality of them. I will not offer anymore the old version, but a new one that will be, in My opinion, a better development of the ones and they will become again creations I will feel more proud of.

Why didn't you send a notice about the future retirement of the skins?

The reason is simple. I did not wanted this to be a marketing move, I wasn't satisfied with the skins from long but knew many still enjoyed them. I know simply the ones I will offer soon will be better and more enjoyable even for those who already liked the old Gods. Proposing the Gods editions in a retirment sale and lowering the price, would be unfair in My opinion to those who purchased them in the past in full. Pushing you now to buy them with the scarecrow of non availability, would be against My personal belief in the worth of those skins anymore on technical and tone level.

I went for a few days of break and vacation, but planned to be back exactly the moment when the sims would be ready for building, the 7th. So it happens than since that day I worked on the Tower of Annon almost without a break, and it was something that freed me. I had this project in mind from more than a year, as an add to the Selidor arcipelagus, but then some other issues came, from utility to economical, to the same position of Annon which am relocating now. At one point some things simply merged together and I could finally throw it all out and do it, and honestly there could be no better way to give birth to the build than making it start its days with a RFL theme and project. To conclude: Damn if I am happy I did it finally.

The Jester Farewell Picture Contest

In February 2008 Jesters presented themselves at the, now lost, Temple of Sandy Cove. Their insanity spread into an opening contest where you were required to showcase your skills in taking a picture of deep hilarious content so that Me and, the well known for her insanity, Rouge could choose the winners. It ended with a very entertaining exhibition of all the participants works and sincere and simple laughs about what a human, or not, brain can produce.

Now, the time has come for Jesters to earn they well deserved retirment from public availability and is fair, I think, to celebrate the closing of an Oldtimer Freebie with the exact same contest.... but with far much richer prices. (at the time still had not much to offer).

So what are you supposed to do to enter the contest?

1. Grab the Jester free outfit, that now is available only in the Fallen Gods Inc. tent at the ZombiePopcorn carnival (open 15 -30 June). After this date the outfit will no longer be available openly to the public as it was in the past two years. (If you are late, don't ask me for a copy because I will not provide it.)

2. The fun part: Snapshots! The only requirement is to use the outfit in your pics, take your time to make pictures everywhere you want, you can use attachments of any kind (just don't cover the outfit too much), poses, locations. You can also make pictures together with other people, so be creative and have fun, because if you do probably also the viewer will be entertained by your work. You can rework the pic with any digital tool you wish, just remember it's not an art contest, but a Humour one.

3. Drop Me your pic, but be sure to follow the exact specifications I am giving, I would really appreciate that.

Specs:

- rename the image as it follows: JESTER 2010 Name Surname (if there is more than a person on the image, it's anyway required just one name, and that will result as the participant for prizes)

- Be sure to check all permissions, so it's copy, modify and transfer.

- Drop it to Alia Baroque inworld, not later than 10 July 2010 Midnight. (If you fear it might get capped, drop it a few times on distant intervals)

Who will judge? I will, and My friend Rouge Darcy. We have a peculiar sense of humour and very variable, so if you do not feel to agree about our taste, do not participate. I am telling that straight away since there's no World rule about Irony, so don't take it too seriously and just have fun.

I am giving prizes, and for the first time as First Prize I am giving a Custom, thing I don't do almost from the time I released the Jester. So here goes the list:

wI wonder why, since I subscribe to MMORPG games not more than two months a year, it's always when major patches are up and so I have to stare at download bars.... Anyway, hope you like the bunch of stuff I was throwing out lately, am taking a few weeks of pause from new projects, leading them on slowly to not burst again and faint after too much productive phases. And yes, each time I say that... I get again an "overproductive" phase and then faint.... now this is what shall be called balance.
I will not mention anymore schedules about what am going to release first, so don't ask, will come as it does, I keep involved and enthusiastic if I feel the creative vibe free of any restraint. Just know that, as usual, have really a lot in progress, many many things, some waiting I shall say years to be finalized, and some new ideas that just come to my mind. As trees softly cover in a furious explosion of green and days till late grant you light; as the sea turns from blu to turquoise and birds sing as on cocaine, ideas flow.
Breathing that strong scent is vital, from fresh grass to salt, and occasionally the smell of My dog that just took a swim, leads Me on. The whole life stimulates you better than anything else you can imagine, there's no human work, for how much delightful, high and incredible that can ever compare Nature's chaotic perfection and beauty. So here I stand, or I may better say: sit, fighting the pulse to do more and more of those ideas obsessing Me and the sea reflects the shining sun calling Me out as a lustful Muse.... what to do?
Balance I guess. You cannot charge too much without melting, on the other hand you cannot use the whole energy without recharging. And yes, I am not very good at balancing. Will I resist to that Muse out of the window? I guess I am not able....so will I resist then to that Muse IN the Window? ..No, that either. But I am grateful to all of this, or else I would die inside.

Feathered updates

Dear Fallens and blog readers,
This is a small update to all of you who asked me about the Feathers skins often, and I waited a bit if a miracle will happen before writing this, but still I struggle over them. By now, I restarted the skins from blank the 4th time, and I am realizing that doing them as I have it in mind is far more complex than I expected. The difference is that human anathomy is not made for a feathered overlay, and to make it credible there are a lot of things I am discovering that have to be done, and far more difficult than a scales or fur body.
So I ask you some patience, I will work on Feathers between other projects to reach the effect I want, because slowly they are driving me nuts and creatively speaking am a bit overloaded and annoyed by it. They will not be placed apart, far from this, it's a project I care too much about and I think they shall be done decently and as I pictured them. But I really need some break and between feather and feather do other stuff, I hope you will understand me. Here you can see a few captures on what I was working till now, and what you'll not probably see since are abandoned try-outs.

- You will need a snapshot of yourself, this is the way people will be able to vote you. Your image will be your presentation card, it will summary all what you want to say so I suggest you take time to choose or to create one that really satisfies and represents you. The artistic value itself of the image and it’s originality will be for sure something that will help you getting noticed by the voters.

- You need to wear one of My skins. All the rest: location, outfit, etc. is by your choice. It’s the only big rule, since without it the competition itself has no sense.

- There must be only one avatar in the image, yourself, otherwise it can get confusing. And it shall be only one pic.

- You will deliver to Me, Alia Baroque, a full permission texture with your name as title preceeded by the prefix FGI09 (example: FGI09 John Doe). I will not exclude on prior who mistakes that, but I might not find your texture and so miss to place you in the voting. Also the ratio shall be that of a standard snapshot and monitor size, vertical and square cuts will have your image deformed.

- I will accept your images untill Tuesday, October 13, 2009.

- On Wednesday 14 I will place out the panels with your pictures, the system will be a single click vote by avatar, so the Jury will be all SL that comes to Selidor. The voting will last untill the DAY BEFORE the Second Anniversary Celebration, which will probably take place on October 24, this has to be confirmed. In this occasion the winners will be announced and praised properly.

- The maximum number of participants by gender is 30, so if it exceeds that number I will make a preliminary selection based mostly on the picture aesthetics and interesting look.

- Very Important: Please. Do not contact Me about anything concerning this matter in IM or by note. I will have a very busy time untill the Anniversary and you really do not want Me to be late with the new releases (laughs). If you fear I did not receive your texture, drop it again, I will not mind at all. (well, if you drop it 100 times I could mind). Anything else that will be needed to know will come by Group notice.

And I hope just for a few days, because I am not yet ready to give up on summer. You might think I have to accept is september, but untill the water is less than 15° I will make as I am on the caribbean. Sea, coconut balls and sails. But when it rains, and when the sun hides (which lately is routine) I am up on a few big things. I can officially say right now that for the second anniversary of Fallen Gods am preparing something, and in addition the release of a brand new line of skins for those who unfortunately do not belong to clean blood...
Here's a small preview of the male, but is still a work in progress so I might change a lot of things as I did after the first preview of the elves last year. This also means that untill the anniversary comes I will be very busy working on all the new stuff and probably not really a social type, so an apologize in advance if you might think I am just a ghost constantly in busy mode.

The Adventures of the Cursed Ghost Eggplant

You might notice I was quite absent in the last two weeks and the reason is I went to visit Rouge and MissAllSunday... the fact it took two weeks it's simply due to the reason they live in Shangai since a while... I just jumped there for a quick coffee! Anyway, we had a great time wandering around the very lively and messy Shangai for a few then went together to visit Beijing, a wonderful trip and vacation. Was My 6th time in Asia but first time in China (if you consider Taiwan is not China), and this People's Republic charms you in many ways. Was too short, leaving was a sort of coitus interruptus so probably will get back bothering them soon... and eating fried rice and fried noodles... to not mention alll the stuff I was able to eat as not having an end in my stomach. My best result in chinese language was at the end the ability to curse ghost eggplants and ask for a toilet, all very useful words. I am back, wish was still there.

About the ripping, Linden took off the stolen material and am very happy the system works and grateful for their good job.

People seems don't have any selfesteem and conscience. Or maybe just a lack of knowledge? I just sent a DMCA fax. Will not tell here the name of the brand, because I want Lindens to take off the content from the grid before the creator. I will not make drama, will not contact this people in IM, will not bother the group. But want to make it clear: I think really evil things about who steals my work, and you really shall consider yourself a sub-human for acting like this, not nearly a "Fallen God".

I do NOT use any business pack and resource for my skins. I paint completely skins, there are no ways someone can have a base as my skins and textures, at least can use similar brushes or same free stock photography for reference or texture grain.

And if it would not be so damn irritating, it would be almost hilarious, look at the shop stall in the same market where I am too:

DHARMA Station: The Temple

Lately, while continuing to clear the Temple undergrounds, and placing some paws I stumbled across a wall that appeared too much new in my eyes, was already collapsing so I broke it and found a door. Took Me a while to understand the acess code but made it to enter. Inside I found strange things, which I am still figuring out what they are meant for. The only thing I know is that a certain Dharma Initiative came to Selidor before I did, a year ago, and surely after the original inhabitants since their modern design. Also a few useful outfits are to be found there, even if not so stylish, who knows you might need it for some gardening on your sim... The logos I saw there also inspired me for a few shirts, that can be found in the temple clothing area, second level, entrance wall. Help me understand that thing, and... I noticed a strange black smoke worm roaming lately around Selidor... someone is smoking too much lately here.
